Gate Operation Procedures

Remote click-cards, personal codes and vendor codes can be arranged through our manager. The personal code is for use by you and your family 24 hours a day. The vendor code is for use by any vendors you may have coming, including regular vendors such as lawn maintenance services and occasional vendors such as contractors.

If your gate codes are ever compromised you should immediately contact the manager to create new codes.

Be sure you have provided all of your regular vendors with your vendor code. (lawn maintenance, lawn chemical treatment services, pool service, nanny, housekeeper, pest control, etc.)

The following general vendors have been provided with a code by the Association:

  • US Post Office
  • Orange County Garbage & Recycling
  • UPS
  • FedEx
  • DHL
  • Orlando Sentinel
  • OUC
  • Spectrum
  • Our community lake manager
  • Orange County Public Library – PEP Delivery
  • Our community landscaping vendor

Provide your vendor code in advance to all drivers of oversized delivery/construction vehicles. When trucks arrive at the gate without your vendor code they are doing damage to the guardhouse, blocking the entrance and following in behind other vehicles, which jeopardizes the gates. Also instruct these drivers to use the mini keypad on the outside column.

Remember, vendor codes work Monday through Saturday 7:00a.m. – 6:00p.m. If you are expecting a delivery by an oversized vehicle after those hours or on Sunday, you must make arrangements in advance to meet them at the gate with your clicker to let them in. Please do not provide your personal 24-hour code to vendors.

When you enter at the resident gate, be sure your clicker has engaged the gate and that it is in the full open and stopped position before you proceed through the gate.

Do not follow in other cars without being sure your clicker has engaged the gate and that it is in the full open and stopped position.

Do not follow in other cars through the visitor entrance. You must stop and enter your own code and wait for the gate to be in the full open and stopped position before proceeding.

Notify all guests that they must call you from the visitor callbox and that they are not to follow in behind other cars.

Be sure to notify Management if your phone number changes so that they can program it into the callbox.

Make sure all members of your household are aware of the code to enter through the pedestrian gates. For your children’s safety, they should be instructed to use the pedestrian gate and should never walk or ride a bike in behind a car through the vehicle gates. (Contact Management to obtain the pedestrian gate code.)

The following is from the June 27, 2006 minutes: “The Board discussed and agreed that for the safety and security of the community, when the gates are closed permanently on July 10, 2006, that the gates will not be allowed to be open for parties, garage sales, open houses, etc. The only exception will be that if the Board chooses to sponsor an annual garage sale, as has been done historically in November, then the gate would be open for that community-wide event.  The manager will be directed to no longer open the gates for individual homeowner functions.”

We need everyone’s cooperation to insure the proper operation of the gates and the safety of our residents. It is important that all vehicles slow down at the gate and take the few extra seconds to be sure the gates are engaged to the full open and stopped position before proceeding.
